Just a reminder..

The Augusta rec dept will be holding it's first annual 'Medieval days' tourney and festival July 28th 9-5 at the rec center sports fields..(raindate the 29th).
This is a public event..

Below is a rough schedule of events (more to be added as the come to life !!)

9am Registration and weapons inspection open

10am Tourneys start and run throughout the day..We will have 2 rings set up

11am Live steel demo by the Neville's

12 Noon..Meet the reenactors

1pm Archery demo

2 pm Trebuchet Demo

3 Live steel Demo

4pm Challenge matches

5 Pm awards

Updates on our events...

July 28th (raindate 29th) Augusta Medieval Days--this is our recs group tourney day (boffer , live steel..possibly archery etc and maybe the Trebuchet  !!!)..Been working on a Norman helm as a grand prize for the boffer tourneys and hopefully we will get a few more medieval items donated as well !!! It is shaping up well..We expect a good turn out for the boffers and a few live steel folks..The Rec Dept has commited to help find some food vendors and some other vendors as well as some local talent to help perform..We want to create a faire atmosphere..They also will be advertising the event in the papers and radio stations , which is quite cool...This is a public event and a free event as well..we plan it to be a regular summer faire up here if it goes well..we have a great site and the support of the city so shich is a great thing !!..The local community needs more of this stuff....so anyone out there who may be interested in participating let us know..

Swanville- We got booked to demo's at a private party in Swanville Aug 18th..Some of The Maine Vikings will also be joining us..This should be a fun, very laidback event !!

New Hampshire Ren Faire- We will again be doing the fight demo's at the NHRF in end of October..(Please no rain again !!!) We will have our 15th C camp set up and in addition to the fights will be talking about 15th life on campaign..15th Garb required for this one...

We are alwyas looking for serious live steel fights..as some of you know we do not do choreographed combat but full contact tourney style..15th Century..shoot us a note if you are interested and live in the central/s.maine area..

Well thats all for now..another rainy day thats gonna kill any outside activities..cheers !!

Well..looks like the July 28th event is shaping up well..we could have 20-50 fighters...(have a few other boffer groups coming for it as well..)what we have planned for the day are boffer tournaments , live steel bouts and possibly some archery shoots...we shall end with a few field battles (boffer). The rec dept is going to advertise the event for us so we could get a few spectators..hoping to find a few folks to come out and entertain with music and such..for those who do know know we run youth medieval group trough the Augusta Recreation Dept (Maine)..We are hoping if this year goes well it will evolve into a faire/ tourney in future years..Augusta needs more stuff !!!!Should be a fun event!   The Neville's will also be at the NHRF doing live steel and having out 15thC camp too.!!(Oct)
